It is named after the Akagera River that flows along its eastern boundary and feeds into a labyrinth of lakes. The rolling hills of Acacia woodland coupled with scattered grassland and swamp-fringed lakes along the watercourse combine to create a park of breathtaking beauty.
5:00 AM, you will be picked from your Hotel and start your 2.5hours drive to Akagera National Park where you will first go through the registration process at the reception before embarking on your full day Game Drive.
You will have the opportunity to view many large mammals such as elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and antelope that frequent the open plains within the park with the chance to spot the big 5 of the Park. Picnic snacks and a bush packed lunch will be served on your drives before exiting the Park heading back to Kigali City for a drop off in the evening.
